These times call for creative local work, connected globally. Locally, in Spokane and the Inland Northwest we are working with others to create new opportunities for people who want to discover the new stories in their lives. Our current work is to support Jimmy and Nancy Edison Smith's development of Heartsong Retreats near Tum Tum. We are also working to support the evolution of The Power of Hope, an extraordinary program using the arts to work with youth, in the Inland Northwest. Globally, New Stories works in partnership with a number of different ventures. We have been fortunate to move into supportive relationships with several Large Scale Change Initiatives. Our work with these initiatives often has two aspects: helping them get greater clarity about their purpose, identify, structure and process, and helping them use the internet to create global learning community. Since the mid nineties Bob Stilger has been assisting organizations and institutions develop Distance Learning Programs. Colleges, universities and other organizations turn to New Stories to create virtual classrooms and other distance learning programs and processes. We've worked with a number of different enterprises to help them create virtual enterprises. At New Stories, we believe there's much more to the world than most of us were raised to believe. Subtle Energies are one of the most important, little understood influences in our lives. We're pleased to support Marti Anderson's work to make subtle energies more understandable. Francesca Firstwater, another close colleague, has dedicated her life to support the emergence of Grandmother's Voices on the planet. Francesca, working in Australia, Spokane and the Lakota Pine Ridge Reservation -- as well as wherever else she is called -- serves an initiative to make the voices of our grandmother's loud and strong in this time of change. New Stories has been blessed with the chance to work with many young leaders in Africa and has formed a special relationship with Cire Kane of Senegal and the Synapse Learning Centre. This extraordinary, new program supports the emergence of social entrepreneurs in Senegal. This is a lot, more than enough, and not very much at all! We are constantly evolving new relationships locally and globally which offer us new opportunities for work. Like everyone else, we struggle to make ends meet financially. If you see ways in which we might be of service to you, please be sure to contact Bob Stilger
